The Ramsey Academy

The Ramsey Academy is a co-educational, mixed 11-16 secondary school with academy status, located in Halstead, Essex.  Its aim is to be an inclusive outstanding school at the heart of the community that fully engages with local people and organisations.  It has 622 pupils and is part of the North Essex Multi Academy Trust.

Directions has been delivering Careers Information, Advice & Guidance at the school since 2011.

The support of the Directions Team (in particular Laura) has been outstanding. The careers provision has been reviewed and developed through effective collaboration between the Careers Leader, CEIAG Co-ordinator and the Directions Adviser. As a result numerous new initiatives have been implemented to complement the existing provision of careers interviews, advice to parents and attendance at Careers Fairs. These include ‘weekly employer drop-in sessions’ and the development of business networks to support mock job interviews and work experience placements.
