Who we are

 

Directions IAG Ltd is an independent Careers Information, Advice and Guidance Company, which provides impartial careers guidance and careers related services to young people, schools, academies, colleges and other organisations.

 

What do we do with your information and who do we share it with?

 

Directions IAG Ltd complies with its obligations under the GDPR by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to protect personal data.  Directions IAG Ltd also works within the GDPR and child protection policies of each establishment/organisation where services are delivered.

 

  • For Young people – Directions IAG Ltd doesn’t store your personal information. The information you give us about your careers ideas and plans is stored on your school/academy’s system. Any information you give Directions may be shared with your school/academy, colleges, parents/carers and other organisations such as Essex County Council to help you with your future plans. Directions will always ask for your permission to share this information unless under a legal/statutory obligation or a child protection issue.

 

  • For Associate Advisers/Schools/Academies – Directions IAG Ltd will only keep relevant personal information with regard to your contract with us. Directions will never share your information with a third party unless you have given permission to do so.

 

When you submit an enquiry via our website

 

When you submit an enquiry via our website, Directions requests your name, contact telephone number and email address. Directions uses this information to respond to your query, including providing you with any requested information about our services. Directions may also email you afterwards to ensure we have answered it to your satisfaction. Your enquiry is stored and processed as an email, which is hosted within the European Economic Area (EEA). We keep enquiry emails for a maximum of two years, after which they are deleted from our system.

 

Accessing the information we hold about you

 

You have the right to ask for any information we have about you. When we receive a request from you in writing, we must normally give you access to everything we have recorded about you.

This applies to paper and electronic records. If you cannot ask for your records in writing, we will make sure there are other ways you can apply.  If you have any queries regarding access to your information please contact admin@directions-careers.co.uk

 

Your right to complain

 

If you have a complaint about our use of your information, Directions would request you contact us directly in the first instance so that we can address your complaint. However, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office via their website at www.ico.org.uk/concerns
